Staffan Eek has been working as a top-level freelance dancer
since 1989.
From 1999 and on, he has collaberated with the norwegian
group Zero Visibility,
created by wellknown and established choreographer Ina
Christel Johannesen,
as well as Christine de Smedt, one of four choreographers in
one of Belgiums
most innovative and internationally renown companies Les
Ballets C. de la B.
During his career as a dancer and choreographer, he has been
working at the
Royal Swedish Opera for a total of 2,5 years, just recently
as a choreographer in the opera
”l ´Enfant et les Sortilèges” by composer
Maurice Ravel.
At the
Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, he had a major part (the Drum major)
as an
actor in the play “Woyzeck” last season. In the same house he has been working
as a dancer,
actor and
choreographer among Ingmar Bergman is the most wellknown director. For Ingmar
Bergman
he´s
also been working on National Television (SvT).
In Staffans debut as a choreographer, he made it to the finals in the Nordic Choreography Competition in Copenhagen 1992.
Since the start he has produced about 2 performances a year. Last fall at the Maison de la Dance in Stockholm
with the show ”Switch”. Just recently the solopiece ”Same but different” saw very good reviews at the off-off stage Fylkingen in Stockholm.
As a dancer and choreographer Staffan has toured extensively in Sweden, Europe and USA.
